At Oaklands Hospital we offer a first class ophthalmology service provided by our skilled and experienced consultant ophthalmic surgeons.
Ophthalmology is the study, diagnosis and treatment of eye conditions and disorders. As part of the Oaklands Hospital ophthalmology service we are able to offer professional advice and the necessary tests to work through your problems and help you improve one of the most important senses you have, and therefore the quality of your life.
We offer eye treatments for a range of eye conditions and problems including:
Treatment of corneal and external diseases (infection, grafts etc)
Treatment of eyelid and tear duct disorders
Blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery)
Cataract, lid surgery, lacrimal, orbital surgery, mal-position (ectropion/entropion ptosis), growths (tumours, cysts, warts), watery-eyes, cosmetic (blepharoplasty) and general (dry eyes, pterygium removal).
Blepharoplasty is both a cosmetic and medical procedure to remove the saggy skin and to reposition the fat around the eye, both on the eyelid and below where eye bags form. A blepharoplasty can improve sight where saggy excess skin on your eyelid obstructs your vision. Please note that this procedure is carried out by our consultant cosmetic surgeons.
