Oaklands Physio to hit Rio Paralympics!
Wednesday 31 August 2016

Sam Richard, Physiotherapist at Ramsay Oaklands Hospital in Manchester has, yet again, been selected to represent our nation at the Paralympics in Rio.

Sam has worked at Oaklands Hospital for almost 4 years, after meeting the general manager of the hospital, Helen Rocca, at the London 2012 Olympics, where she was a senior physiotherapist for the football teams. Helen says:

“I am very proud of Sam and what she has achieved. She is a brilliant physiotherapist and we are lucky to have her. She will not only carry the flag for our country, but will also carry the flag for Ramsay Health Care. We wish her all the best in Rio and cannot wait to hear all about it on her return.”

Sam embarks on her journey to Brazil in one week, adding to her astonishing list of achievements. Sam says:

“I was lucky enough to attend the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow as a Team Leader in 2014, after volunteering at the 2012 Olympics in London and the Rugby World Cup. I decided to apply for Rio two years ago and I am ecstatic to be going; truly honoured.”

All of Sam’s colleagues at Oaklands Hospital and Ramsay Health Care wish her all the best in Rio.
